Maker Object

Maker Object: Object Sensors for Beginners

£13.80

Maker Object is a tiny digital infrared (IR) proximity sensor designed for object/obstacle detection.

Or

The IR signal is modulated at 38kHz which makes it immune to ambient light. The Maker Object has NPN output with an internal pull up resistor, its output is low when an object is detected. The sensing range is adjustable via the small opening at the front of the sensor; this makes it easily accessible even when the sensor is mounted on a robot.

Due to its small form factor, Maker Object can be easily fitted into tiny robots such as a mini sumo robot. The 90 degrees pin header is also very handy allowing you to plug in the sensor directly to the PCB or breadboard for quick testing.

Despite the compact size, the sensing distance is not compromised. With maximum sensing distance of 60cm (Black Surface) - 140cm (White Surface), Maker Object is well suited to various kind of application such as sumo robot, obstacle avoidance robot, safety sensor for an auto gate, parking lot occupancy sensor, entrance sensor...etc.
