The set contains the EV3 Intelligent Brick, a compact and powerful programmable computer that makes it possible to control motors and collect sensor feedback using the intuitive icon-based programming and data logging software that is delivered with the set.
Supplied in a sturdy storage box with a sorting tray for easy classroom use and includes three servomotors, five sensors (gyro, ultrasonic, colour and two touch sensors), a rechargeable battery, connecting cables, printed and digital building instructions, and LEGO® Technic building elements for creating a wide variety of models.

The easy-to-learn, easy-to-use software and the programming app are optimised for classroom use.
Programming is done by dragging and dropping icons into a line to form commands allowing students to build simple programs, and then easily and intuitively build on their skills until they are developing complex algorithms.
You can now use your EV3 Brick to unleash the power of Python programming using MicroPython. Simply install the EV3 MicroPython image onto any micro SD card, use it to boot up your EV3 Brick and start programming straightaway. Switching back to the standard LEGO® MINDSTORMS® EV3 firmware is just as easy. We have also provided full documentation and sample API code to help you to get started.
How to get started
- Download and flash the EV3 MicroPython image onto a micro SD card
- Insert your micro SD card into the SD card slot on the EV3 Brick and switch it on
- Download, install and launch the free Visual Studio Code editor on your computer
- Install and activate the LEGO Education EV3 extension
- Connect the EV3 Brick to your computer and begin coding
