Distance/Range

Distance sensors are simple devices that measure the approximate distance between the sensor and an object. For example, IR distance sensors bounce infra-red light off of the object in order to determine how far away it is.

Each type of distance sensor works differently and has a different detection range, so you should take time to consider which one will work best in your system.
