Human Like Design
Creating an innovative, low cost hand platform which can be used for humanoid hand grasping research has been our goal during design of the AR10 Humanoid Hand. The hand is based on the average size of an adult male which brings a whole range of practical benefits when being used for real life research and simulation.
Fully customisable and Expandable
3D printed fingertips are interchangeable and customisable so users can change the shape and size of each individual fingertip to suit a wide variety of applications and increase the dexterity of the AR10 hand. It is also possible to expand and add external 3rd party hardware such as tactile sensors either through retrofitting or by printing your own fingertips using open source 3D printing files.
Advanced Interfacing and Connectivity
The AR10 Hand has been designed specifically for the Baxter Research Robot & Sawyer Smart Collaborative Robot but also works as a standalone user platform. Interfacing is possible via USB or Serial connectivity to Windows, Linux, Arduino and many more platforms giving all users a wide range of choice for their preferred system. The hand will be fully integrated with ROS with Open Source control software so you can customise and control your hand to suit your needs.
