The HexAvoider is a programmable mobile robot designed to move independently and avoid obstacles by either moving to the left or right. HexAvoider uses infrared emitters and receivers to "sense" its environment. It also has two antennae or "feelers". These are also used to sense obstacles.

HexAvoider is programmed using C language. The user can program on his PC and download the program to the robot using FLASH memory. The user has the option of including a RF module in HexAvoider's construction. With this, the operator can directly control HexAvoider's movements from his PC.

HexAvoider comes in kit form. The front and rear legs provide locomotion while the middle pair steers the robot. The body is made of high quality, durable plastic and is quite rugged.
