PhidgetEncoder

A USB mechanical rotary encoder.

Measures 80 counts per revolution, and has a push button on the shaft.

This type of encoder is typically used for human interface, not measuring the speed of motors and pulleys.

It can handle up to 500,000 counts per second and can be connected to any incremental quadrature encoder.

It will measure both dynamic acceleration (vibration) and static acceleration (gravity or tilt).
