Product Code: LED90Excl. VAT: €0.49 Incl. VAT: €0.60
These 90degree diffused red LEDs offer reasonable efficiency, and can be powered directly from a microcore circuit, as we did on our ScoutWalker 1 Kit.
These LEDs also interlock on the sides, so you can link as many of them together as you want.

Come on - surely you've heard of the 555 timer chip? It's practically one of the most venerable, used, abused, contorted, respected, popular chips in the history of the silicone chip.
Trust us - it's a "Do everything" sort of IC.

Solarbotics are proud to offer this kit to compliment David Cook's Robot Building for Beginners book.
This kit comes complete with all electrical components necessary to build a fully functional Sandwich robot (minus the batteries and molex headers.)
We strongly recommend this kit be used with the book as there are many construction points only covered in the book.
- Soldering is required
Product Code: L293DExcl. VAT: €4.63 Incl. VAT: €5.57
This smaller brother to the SGS Thompson L298 is one of the most common motor driving chips out there.
Each IC can handle two motors at nominally 600mA each, with spikes up to 1.2 amps, at a voltage range between 4.5 and 36 volts
Product Code: L298Excl. VAT: €4.84 Incl. VAT: €5.81
The SGS Thompson L298 motor driver can power up to 4 amperes through two motors up to a maximum of 46 volts.
This chip accepts standard TTL logic level inputs, but does require back-EMF protection diodes for chip protection.
